Vizag Hosts National Workshop On Seafood Exports
Vizag once again showcased its importance in India’s Blue Economy by hosting the two-day National Workshop on Seafood Exports on June 5 and 6, 2026. The event brought together policymakers, seafood exporters, industry leaders, researchers, and start-ups to discuss strategies for accelerating India’s marine exports beyond the ₹1 lakh crore milestone.
The workshop was organized by the Department of Fisheries in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and focused on strengthening India’s position in the global seafood market.

India’s seafood sector has witnessed remarkable growth in recent years, with marine exports reaching a record ₹73,890.46 crore.

The workshop highlighted the importance of supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises involved in seafood processing, packaging, and exports.
Aviation And Cargo Logistics
Improved air cargo facilities, cold-chain infrastructure, and efficient logistics networks were recognized as critical factors for increasing seafood exports and reducing transportation costs.
