Global mobility giant Uber is set to expand its Research & Development Centre of Excellence in Visakhapatnam, further strengthening Vizag’s position as a growing technology and innovation hub in India.
Established in 2019, the Uber Centre of Excellence in Vizag currently employs around 500 professionals and plays a key role in supporting the company’s global operations and technology initiatives.
The expansion of Uber’s R&D presence in Visakhapatnam is expected to create more employment opportunities for tech professionals while boosting Andhra Pradesh’s rapidly growing IT and innovation ecosystem.
Over the past few years, Vizag has been attracting major investments in technology, data centers, digital infrastructure, and global capability centers. The city is increasingly emerging as an alternative technology destination alongside major Indian metro cities.
