Visakhapatnam Railway Station Ganja Seizure: City Dog Squad Recovers 10 Kg

In a major anti-drug operation, police along with the City Dog Squad conducted surprise inspections at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station and seized around 10 kilograms of ganja packed in two separate bags.

The inspection was carried out as part of intensified security checks at key transport hubs in Visakhapatnam. During the routine screening, trained sniffer dogs alerted officers about suspicious luggage found near the railway station premises.

Upon checking the bags, police confirmed the presence of ganja weighing approximately 10 kg in total. The contraband was immediately seized, and officials initiated further investigation to trace the source of the illegal substance and identify the persons involved in the smuggling attempt.

Authorities have been increasing surveillance at railway stations, bus stands, and other crowded transit points in the city due to rising concerns over drug trafficking networks using public transport routes for transportation.

Officials stated that strict legal action will be taken under the NDPS Act against those involved in this illegal activity. The investigation is currently ongoing, and more details are expected soon.

This operation highlights the growing effectiveness of City Dog Squad units in detecting concealed narcotics and preventing drug movement through major transport hubs in Visakhapatnam.
